As a whole, the fertility rate for the U.S. was at an historic low in 2018, at 59 births per 1000 women, ages 15 - 44.

Teen birthrate has dropped since 1990, less than half of what it was then:

Pew provides some interesting numbers about overall numbers and specifically by educational attainment of mothers, from 2015:

And seems to be regional, according to Insider:

I said we're a long way from hunting and gathering.

I love big families!

We are not procreating enough to replace ourselves which is what France did. At some point that trend is irreversible. I believe they're at that point.

It's a new day and time. Large families are no longer synonymous with poverty and struggle.
This his what I’ve noticed for the most part. The people I know who have 5 are doing well financially. Well not sure on one. But I know the other two have money.

Another study showed that by 2050 only people of faith will be having children. Two Churches that seem to have large amounts of children are both Catholics and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up in the Church and my wife grew up Catholic. That is why we have 6 kids.[/quote]

Add Amish, certain Jewish sects, and welfare bums.

Catholics used to have a lot of kids. It’s amazing how birth control can actually give people some choices in life. Like hey I enjoy having sex with my partner but I don’t necessarily want to end up with 9 kids as a result. People evolve.

I've noticed large families on social media. However, they all belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For some reason, the social media influencer career has attracted many women from this faith. Therefore, it seems that a lot of people are having more kids.

Muslims have a ton of kids too. At least 4 per family.
Orthodox Jews have 12 per family.

I’d happily have kids but can’t find a sperm donor. Sigh. Now I get why arranged marriages are a good idea.

For sure. It seems like the average is still 2.5. I have just noticed more and more with 4 lately.
