Congratulations!
I love, love, love the name Isabella!
I'm smiling as I read these responses because I was so stuck when choosing my son's name. Christian and Nicholas were my top two. Somehow, I wasn't completely sold on either, though. Then, Louis just popped into my head one day and I loved the way it sounded! Not common, but definitely not bizarre.
It's a strong name, too.
Let us know what you choose!

Congratulations!! I love looking up baby names, even though I'm not planning on kids yet... there are just so many great ones to pick from! Do you prefer a more traditional name, something "unique", trendy, ethnic, etc? I personally like the old-fashioned names, and ones that will last for a lifetime - in other words, nice on both a kid & an adult. Anyway, here's a list of some favorites... my heritage influences them slightly, but they'd sound good on any kid.
Girls: Sabrina (my first pick!), Samantha, Sonya, Olivia, Anna, Janine, Zoe, Zoya (the Russian form of Zoe - means "life"), Maya, Grace, Eve/Eva.
Boys: Andrew, Zachary, Nicholas, Alex, Elijah, Gabriel, Evan, Jacob/Jack (my late grandfather's name, which my sister already claimed), Noah, Max.

I'm glad that you have joined this thread Gizmo, always looking for your advice. I love Zoe as I have stated before and my first born is named Nicholas. I was leaning towards Isabella for a girl or Christian for a boy. What do you think Gizmo. BTW name is Joshua and it is a Jewish name. I like Jewish or Christian names, not sure if there is a difference, since I'm not religious. I like traditional, I like that it will last a lifetime. Hate trendy!! Read all my posts, Gizmo, and tell me what you think!!

I have two kids - Sean and Kelly. Being mostly Irish, those names really appealed to me.
Isabella is beautiful. One of my favorite names. I have a long list of favorite names, being a "name nerd" and all.
Since you've already decided on a girl's name, I'll just list my favorite boy names.
Boys:
Luke
Liam
Josiah
Trevor
Nikolai
Dominic
Brendan
Alexander
Caleb
Ian
Jonah
Matthew
Evan
Brett
Nathan
Aidan
Declan
Nathaniel
Joseph
Jonathan
Dimitri
Demetrius
Ronan
Colin
Devin
Rhys (reese Welsh)
Malachy (mal-uh-key Irish)
Conall
Ethan

I named my son Gage (french meaning "devoted" , the "A" is long vowel)
Being french it seemed to fit. We have never heard of very many kids named Gage. Thought it was a strong, masculine sounding name.
We should start a thread on the due date ! See who gets closest !!!!
