What about the two parent families like mine, where one parent is disabled ? I am the only adult able to work in my household and I have an autistic child as well that I homeschool. If I would have to pay them to mow my lawn then so should single mothers.

did you guys watch the video? the guy is doing it free for a customer of his who used to pay him. he is doing it out of the goodness of his heart and wallet. should he go around mowing everyone's yard for free? he said he hopes it cathces on--maybe you will be lucky enough to find a kind hearted person to do that for you.

When I hear something like the thread title I almost always think the worst.....gotta get my mind out of the gutter.
That's very nice of him. Lord knows my wife doesn't know how to use a lawn mower. If I had passed on we'd have either a jungle or a lawn service.

I am always amazed at the women that dont know how to run a lawn mower or weed eater. I imagine it makes it hard on them when divorce or death occurs. It is refreshing someone out there cares. My dh passed away when our kids were 6 and 1, no one, not even family members offered to help me with mowing and such, ever. But now my grown sons will do my mowing and yard work with out being asked, even when I was with my lazy stbx that wouldnt mow they would take over if the saw me doing it.

I simply decided not to the mow lawn. This was in part due to the response of my mom, when I told her I was getting a divorce, she blurted out, "You can't get a divorce. Who will mow the lawn?"
So i let the lawn grow. It grew and grew and grew. It was THE favorite yard for playing in with all the kids. My (very poetic) friend sighed and said, "You're growing a meadow." After that I simply felt good about it. After 5 years (of no mowed lawn) i sold the house, and hired someone to mow the lawn (well more like scythe the meadow) prior to putting it on the market. My next door neighbor was so astounded when he heard the lawnmower running that he came running over and asked "What happened?" He said he would miss me.
