Thank you for all your replies, even though a couple scared me a little.

I am actually pretty excited. I really NEED to do something that uses my head and isn't child related. I have been getting pretty burned out. My husband will share the load as he starts and finishes earlier than I will and I am very lucky in that this place offers child care on major holidays so I don't have to take extra time off work. They also have a very good preschool on-site which I won't use for now but may transfer my younger to if that looks like it may be a better option.

Funnily enough, I was talking to another Mom today and turns out her company was looking for people with my specific skill set. She offered me a position if this one doesn't work out, their location is very close and she is fine with flexible, child friendly hours. As long as the job is done, she couldn't care less when and where I do it. So I now have 2 wonderful opportunites. I truly feel blessed.

Wish me luck.

I was home for 7 years, also-went back to work full-time about 3 years ago, when the youngest was 2.

Dh and I absolutely have to work together as a team-we coordinate schedules daily and rely on cell phone communications-to make it work, but we do allright. I do daycare drop off and he does pickup. In the fall, all the kids will be in school, which will hopefully be a little easier with no more daycare.

I work a lot of required overtime and sometimes, we just have to have a sense of humor about certain things, and to be ok with the occasional fast food meal. I do the best I can, and if the laundry isn't folded or we're eating burgers-well, ok, tomorrow is another day and we'll survive, lol!

Spending time as a family is important to us-even if it's a late-evening trip to the park, on these long summer days. The kids love it!

I too started part-time at their school when my twins were in K and then worked into full-time when they went to 1st grade, but I had been home for 10 years (I have a 12-year old) and it felt great. I got to have the best of both worlds, enjoying my babies while they were little and now watching them turn into little, smart people in school.
