Feel free to share some of the "catch phrases" you heard all of the time that you have passed on to your own children?

Whenever my mom was talking on the phone, one of us would ask who she was talking to, she always replied "Santa Clause" ...... can you guess who I have the most conversations with these days? Yep, Santa Clause.

Oh, but have explaining the meaning of "a broken record"

"Make Haste" was always a big one when we would lollygag around and my mother wanted to get somewhere fast.

"Wait until I tell your dad this one!"- self explanatory.

I use "Make Haste" quite a bit but I do not need to scare the kids with calling their dad...he is the softy!

If we asked my mother if we could do something and she wasn't sure, she'd say, "We'll see." It always meant yes.

LOL! My mother was the same way...and so am I!! Now my kids know how to play me (but only if I am being a softy) Another one my dad always used to say was "Do you think I was born yesterday?!" Yep, I say the same thing.

"Don't make me turn this car around, Mister! "
"Do I need to come up there?"

Always good memories thinking of the things that parents said to me. Scary that I say the same things to my son!! NOt only do I have my mother's curse, but I have the father's curse....my son doesn't stop talking!!! (like mother, like son!)

We grew up the same, but whenever my mom said "maybe" is always meant no. I try not to get into that habit with my own. Maybe's are usually the things that I do think over... and can mean yes equally.

My mom would always ask if we thought money grew on trees, we'd always say yes, because money was made of paper and paper comes from trees...

And how many times was the car turned around? once for us, but thinking back, we deserved it.

This is a funny thread. Let's see. I first noticed this affliction while driving. I make the same comments my father made; I even shake my head in disgust just like he did. Now, in regards to parenting, I know I say the same things, but can't think of anything too out of the ordinary. Just the usual, such as: "Don't make me come over there."
