We live in a family oriented neighborhood. There is even a Halloween party prior to it getting dark.

My kids always went out but around 14-15 not as much, then all of sudden, they were in high school and it was cool to do it - put on rollerblades, costumes off course - and well thought out ones determined to go to every house in the neighborhood (306). I don't think they got them all but those pillowcases were mighty heavy when they got home.

They and their friends - about 10 each - had a blast!

I'm fine with it and love seeing the costumes.

(My favorite year when they were 6 - my daughter and her cousins went as the 3 Blind Mice - my sister sewed them costumes and they were the cutest!)

My 38 year old cousin still goes trick or treating around the neighborhood every year. He couldn't get his wife and kids to go with him this year though. We don't get a lot of trick or treaters around our neighborhood anymore and he tries to keep the tradition alive. 10-15 years ago we use to have a lot and now it's down to 3-4 a year. It's sad.
