Good
Regardless, doubt women who do breastfeed in public give a darn about your opinion.
Other than that, great post to try to stir up issues...how original...

Bottles are no longer necessary after a year old. They are given out of convenience.
Breastfeeding is no longer necessary after a year old. It is done out of convenience or a parental desire to continue due to their own reluctance to allow the child to grow into it's own independence.
Diapers are no longer necessary after 18 months for girls and 2 years for boys. They are continued because it is easier to change a diaper than to devote ample time to train the child. Same thing.
I won't even go into what I think about women who breastfeed out in the open in public.

Do you have children, or any experience with children? I know that before I had kids, my hypothetical children would also be potty trained by age 2, and they would also never cry in public!

Two daughters, both trained at 15 months; completely out of diapers by 18 months (nights as well). Son trained by 2. Only one accident after training between all three, and that was because she was in a vehicle with my sister, and couldn't hold it long enough to get to a bathroom.
Two off bottles by first birthday. One at 8 months because she was crawling and way too busy to take the bottle (ALL had their bottles ONLY in the arms of a parent, never laid down with them or carried them around). The other two liked the cuddling. On the first birthday I said that's it, and there were not complaints.
They were all breastfed for the first 6 to 8 months.

So, you don't care what anybody else around you thinks, you're going to do what you want regardless? Great attitude.
I always try to embarrass women who are blantantly breastfeeding in public because it's offending. It is not their job to educate my children and flaunt their breasts in front of them. It is up to me to decide whether or not my son or daughters are exposed to the nudity of personal, private areas of the body in public.

What well behaved and wonderfully smart children you must have! You must be so proud.
There used to be another poster on this forum who also had strong opinions and similarly genius children... a girl who potty trained at 15 months and a boy who potty trained by 2. She left a month or so ago, though.... hmmm.....

Don't know who you mean, I'm new here, but I have family members who have also trained their children before 2. My oldest daughter is now 32 and her son and daughter trained by 2. It isn't so unusual. My other two don't have children yet, but when they do, they will not wear diapers after 2 years old, and not take the bottle after a year.
Guess I'm not the only adult who thinks the old way. Good to know.

They choose to feed their hungry children the way nature intended. You can choose to look away if it offends you to see babies eating.

"Stormy," you said that you breastfed for 6-8 months for each of your children... did you just stay home during those months? If not, how did you handle it if they wanted to eat in public? Or did they just not ask/cry to nurse in public, much as they didn't complain when you stopped giving them bottles?
And I'm wondering how you embarrass the women that you encounter breastfeeding?
