FORT PIERCE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say an 11-year-old boy hit his mother in the head with a saw and then offered her $5 not to call police. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office reported that the boy and his 41-year-old mother got into an argument Wednesday when she was trying to get him to take his medication.
Not a funny situation, but I had to laugh at the $5 offer... my 7 year old says this a lot... though not after hitting me with a saw, and not trying to convince me not to call the police on him!! Usually it's "can I have ice cream for dessert?" "Not tonight." "Come on, I'll give you $5!"
Must be a sign of the declining economy. Should have offered at least $25 because it was a saw. Hammer- $20, frying pan- $15, Wii controller- $10, book- $5.
I'd let them take the kid and get his meds stabilized, then mega family counseling.
