I have a hard time folding, but my ex bought me a folding board which makes it easy

I always put my dirty clothes directly into the hamper. I never leave socks lying around.

My room is messy with clothes, but almost all are still on hangers, so I can easily put them back. My shoes end up in a pile, and I put them away about twice a week as well.

My apt is also pretty clean, as is my kitchen. My bathroom is too, except for the tub, which needs a scrubbing.... Can't win em all!
I kept a clean place until I got married and had kids.

I hate doing laundry. Not only do I hate it but I do a bad job at it. I'm not a good multi-tasker and with four kids, I have loads of laundry and activities, and I often forget I have laundry in the machines. My husband has done the laundry for the last ten years (unhappily). We agreed it was worth the money to hire someone to come in once a week and do our laundry. It's a luxury but well worth it for the well-being of our marriage.

I am a control freak. I do all the laundry in my home. On the few occassions my dh or one of his well meaning relatives have done a load during a visit, they have destroyed something. (Like bleach-tie-dying ALL my maternity clothes 3 weeks before my due date with what I knew was going to be my last pregnancy).

My favorite is the folded, clean clothes hidden in the hamper with the dirty things shoved into the dressers.

But oh well. I also do more laundry than anyone else I know. For instance, I did not know until recently (a few months) that most people do NOT wash their clothing after each wear, pjs and jeans included and that some folks use a towel over and over again. I wash my sheets at least once a week, bedskirt, blankets and comforters twice a month - more often if we have an overnight guest.

Almost all our socks are white. I do at least one white clothing load a week. I do not match up socks as I go. I have a separate sock basket that they all get thrown into and then I sit and sort socks once a week - generally right after I've done the white load.

My nephew now lives with us. He insists on doing his own laundry, but he's been given specific orders not to touch anyone else's laundry.

Sounds like our house too! We use a towel once and then off to the wash. You've gotten in dirty so why use it again? Ugh. Our clothes get one wearing and then off to the wash. Would you wear underwear more than one day? Hopefully the answer is no. If I wear a shirt more than one day, or pants, they feel grimy...kinda like not showering that day.

In our house that is mostly true (we live in a dry climate so we do use towels more than once and I guess I figure by the time I'm drying off I'm clean!) but I did kinda lose you on the bedding. Bedskirts washed twice a month? Really? What are you doing down there? LOL! I will vacuum them to get the dust off but I'm not lifting those mattresses twice a month to take them off and put them back. Wow. My kids bedskirts get washed every couple of months and mine has to be dry-cleaned (along with the comforter and shams - ouch!) so there is no way that is happening several times a month either....

Oops! Didn't mean it to sound like I was dissing you . Really I wasn't. More like a little amazed since it never occured to me to wash the bedskirts that frequently!

Actually you are right! I agree. Washing them will cut down on the amount of dust in the room and since my kids and wife has asthma, that is a good thing!

oh, laundry is done...gotta go do another load, and yep, look at the time! Done at all hours because it will never get done!

I cut the bedskirt and use those corkscrew pins to attach them to the boxspring. I don't have to lift the entire mattress each time... just slide it around. It's not exactly fun, but I'd rather have it clean.

It never occurred to me to vaccuum the bedskirt. I considered it for a moment after I read your post, but... washing it just feels right to me.

I have kept telling my dh I want a Tempurpedic... those things have wood foundations... No more bedskirts!
