Breastfeeding a 6 year old? (milk, pacifier, sucking, pregnant)

I was watching abcnews online yesterday afternoon and seen a video about a mom who is still breastfeeding her 6 year old. Is this normal? The boy could even say which breast had more milk and everything. The mom thought it was better than still sucking on a pacifier or something. I did not breastfeed when my son was little but I thought it was until like a year or something? What is everyones thoughts on it?

I think its disgusting.... I dont mind breastfeeding at all are anything that entails it
breastfeeding in public or pumping milk at work I'm completelly find with it but at at certain age it just time to stop breast feeding and starting eating food.... Six years old is way past that time....

that is disgusting. Scroll down a few threads and there is a whole subject about an 8 year old being breastfed by the whacked out mother. Sickening.

The kid will definitely have issues. It gives me the willies.

Like i said before. I knew 8 yr olds (not to much farther then 6 yr olds) who were boobie obsessed and were starting to masturbate to girly mags- obviously nothing came out. Sick, yes, but it happens. What does that mean if he is also sucking on mom still? if you go much farther than 6 yrs old they might be aroused by moms boobs?

I wouldn't breast feed ANYONE with a mouth full of teeth regardless of age.

My grandmother told me years ago that she breast fed all her children until the age of 4 because it was considered a help in birth control. I guess at a time when the pill wasn't readily available, they did whatever they had to do.
It's not a sure fire way NOT to get pregnant, but decreases the chances if breast feeding full time.

Actually on Youtube there's a video of an 8 year old............... I would only do it if I lived in a 3rd world country where there was famine, then I wouldn't care what people thought. But I think 2 years is max for me!
