Post News, Infamous 'Vigilante Mom' Dies of Cancer.

Ellie Nesler, who sparked a national debate about vigilantism after killing her son's accused molester in a courtroom in 1993, has died of cancer. She was 56.

I read about this. I'm not sure killing the accuser was the best thing for her family. Her children lost a mother.

But I can only imagine how difficult it is to deal with that sort of rage -- and guilt.

Wow, yeah, and it looks like her son only followed in mom's footsteps.

Meanwhile, her son got into legal troubles of his own and was convicted of first-degree murder in 2005 for stomping to death a man hired to clean the family's property in Sonora. The 23-year-old said he believed David Davis was letting people pick through the family's belongings.

William Nesler killed Davis less than an hour after he was released from a 30-day sentence for an earlier assault on him. He is serving a 25-year-to-life sentence.

I have to wonder if this boy had never been molested to begin with would this family still have suffered the same problems---probably not! That molester helped to destroy a mother and a son and who knows how many other innocent people. I think our judicial system stinks too but I personally could not kill/hurt someone unless I caught them in the act and then I'm sure I would protect my child. Our judicial system is the only thing we have but with enough voices maybe things will change how it works today. Something has to be done about those people who harm the "innocents" on this earth!!

She could have taught her child a better way to handle rage. It wasn't the best example.

Right now I am reading a book which I guess is based on this case. Perfect Match by Jody Picoult.

I don't know. If someone ever molested my children, I'd want to do the same thing.

And her son, now grown, is in prison for a vicious murder.
(perhaps his victim's mother should've come to court and shot him? Karma and all).
Ellie Nesler herself was a convicted meth dealer.
Yeah, this is the pair I want doling out vigilante justice in my community.
Frickin' psychopaths.

Folks, there's a reason we have a legal system, m'kay?
