Exactly. If you read the hypothesis in the original post, you'll see that age plays a factor too. A child spanked through/past puberty has a greater likelihood of developing the fetish than a child who is only spanked in the infant years.
anybody who has to spank a child past puberty has parenting issues of their own. If a parent has to resort to spaking at this age, they messed up somewhere along the line. Who is to say those parenting issues arent what contributed to the abomination of spanking fetishes.

I actually believe in spanking. I've been having an email debate with the author of the article in OP about spanking in general. The author is obviously against spanking.
