Activities for a 10 little girl....
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion for some fun things I could do with my little sister. She is 10 yrs old and she enjoys arts/crafts but I was trying to think of something different to do. I know the weather will be nice this weekend but she isn't very outdoorsy. Any ideas are appreciated.

Baking, mani/pedis (done at home), what kind of arts and crafts does she like? Maybe a bike ride at a park? Even if she's not outdoorsy, she might be into it if you're doing it with her.

Check w/ the local arts & crafts stores to see what classes they have this weekend. The ones around here seem to have some kind of class every weekend.

Here are some things that my daughter enjoys when we are just hanging out:
Write and illustrate a book or story - you can do fun photo editing on line or just draw your own pictures.
Old fashioned board games like Life.
Teach yourself a magic trick or card trick and practice it over and over until you are good at it.
Go to the pet store if they are having a pet adoption day and play with the cats or dogs.

Is there anywhere that you can go for a nature walk? Plenty you could do during/after a walk. For example: You can make a bug catcher or buy a set (really inexpensive) and spend time catching insects. If you buy a set.. they usually come with a net, a container, and a magnifying glass. Later, you could classify the insects using a book or the internet. Maybe you could pick some wildflowers and try classifying them. Sounds like it might be something your sister hasn't done before.. and I know when my daughter was 10.. she had a lot of fun with this. If she's into arts/crafts you could pickup a jewelry craft set.. it takes some time to make a nice piece and she'll have something later to remember your time together. :-) Good luck! Don't forget..You can always use Google to pull up many more ideas.

I've got a newly turned 11 yr old daughter, yet she's not your girly girl type. She loves to play with and draw dragons, make paper airplanes, and do her own animation on the computer.
Outside she jumps rope, pogo sticks, rides her bike, digs for bugs and plays catch with anyone willing. She quite enjoys parks, so we make a habit of going when we can. (I also have a 6 yr old son)
She also likes to do the Perler beads (the kind you make a design with and then iron them so they melt together on the top), sand art, sun catchers, ceramic painting and most anything creative.
Making homemade playdough is fun, just google for an easy recipe.
She does not do the mani/pedi/hair/makeup thing or anything regarding shopping/clothes/jewelry etc.

If it is nice enough where you are, maybe you could ask her help tp plant a flower garden. She can help you design it... go help you pick out flowers.... help you plant them and this gives her an excuse to come by.... to see what the garden looks like at different times of the year.
