I wanted the babieboomers but they were too expensive at the time. . . Now that she is 13 months I don't want to save for a month to buy them. It's cheaper now I guess to go with the disposable at night. Like I said, the next time around I'm getting the good ones and spending the 150 or so to get them. Still cheaper in the long run
Oh, okay. Yah, I wouldn't expect Gerber prefolds to be very good for a heavy wetter overnight. They aren't known to be very high quality as diapers. I think a lot of people use them as burp cloths instead. Using disposables at night will probably work out cheaper for you, at least in the short term. To see if it will work out cheaper in the long term, consider how long your daughter will likely be in diapers at night and also if you would use the diapers for other children later on. If you wash diapers every 2-3 days (which I'm guessing you do if you use cloth during the day), you can probably do just fine with only 4 night diapers if you do cloth. You can get one-size pockets so you won't need worry about your little one growing out of them. Around here we can often find bumGenius pockets on craigslist for pretty cheap, or you could get them on DiaperSwappers for cheap too. Just another option.
I always really liked White Cloud. Wal-Mart carries them, too. Cheapest name brand, and by far the best, IMHO. Pampers caused the rash for my kids, as did the Wal-Mart brand.
