Nope LOL. My husband loved Star Wars as a kid too, but even he can only take so much. I think it's when you start hearing the same things over and over again, with no real change or addition to the topic, day in and day out.
Ok that I can relate with too. I've actually told them "You said that already" before. I have my limits too Or "You said that yesterday, man". lol
Hate to admit it, but I've used the video games as a break before. I only let them do it for about 60-90 minutes about twice a week tho and thats if they were good. Its not a good habit, but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. The Nintendo DS and Gamecubes can be mindsavers sometimes.
Oh my gosh was my son a talker!! One day when he was about 3 we were in the front yard pulling weeds and he was going on and on about something, I was tuned out...as I had learned to do...and a neighbor from across the street yelled over "does that kid ever stop talking?". Ha! He was a friend of ours and didn't say it to insult and it made me laugh when I realized "no..he never does!"

Don't hate to admit it . Try it! You may find you'll enjoy it as much (maybe more) than they do. At the very least, if you play, you'll have something new to talk about. Do you have a Wii? That may be an excellent system for your family, based on some of the descriptions you've given.
For the record, Nelly = Gamermom to an avid gamer. Great to have a hobby we share and are both very enthusiastic about.
all the parents of chatter boxes just have smart, creative outgoing children! the camera and video cam is a great idea. so is reading. journaling and art. maybe a large mosaic or sidewalk art. swimming/snorkle lessons. golf. summer is here get them out bike riding, on hikes to discover nature. yes they can drive you nuts but it is when they stop wanting to talk to you that you should worry. find the time as well for yourself to at least have a time out for your mental health.
Both my girls are talkers, they will talk your fricken ear off about their obsession. My oldest is about her future, which is great but when you hear the same thing over and over again you want to bang your head, my youngest DD is sports, she will go on and on. The best thing I have found to help me is this. "Honey I am so happy you are excited about this, I want to hear what you have to say about it, once, otherwise when I am doing the laundry I will get the same energy to talk to you about it and you may not like it." They keep it short and sweet. Mind you I think my girls are older than your kids.

Yeah, my boys may take that as a dig. I honestly don't think they see themselves as others do. So they really wouldn't know what to "learn" from it as they don't think they are really talking that much. ADHD kids are like that.
Oh yes, I'm not the only person! My son goes on and on about Clone Wars and Star Wars!
There seem to be quite a lot of us who are talked at about Star Wars on a regular basis... LOL!
