Lilly or Iris or Violet

Those are the only flower names I can come up with.

I know. All my life, I've heard hispanics calling their little girls "mamacita".
It's only in the last few years that they've shortened it to "mama" and started calling their small sons "daddy" as well.
It's bad enough... but, you know, I dismissed it as some sort of cultural thing that I, as a white girl, wouldn't understand.

But now white girls are saying it too, and I know it's not a cultural thing for them, and quite frankly it drives me bug****.

It's as if women are trying to infantilize themselves, while simultaneously sexualizing their children.
But then, I've never liked baby talk or nonsense talk of any kind. I never used it when my son was little.
