My daughter in the Army called me today to wish me a Happy Father's Day. I was taken aback but thanked her and she went on and on how she appreciates how I fulfilled both roles....
Fathers [not just birth fathers] are a dying breed and well, I guess good moms will soon follow.
The family unit is such a precious thing. I've taught my children to wait as long as they can to marry....maybe in their mid to late 20s. I so don't want them to go through what I went through.....I want my children to be married so long they can celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary.

I had this conversation with a fellow Dad a few hours ago after reading all the pro-mom and even some anti-dad posts on facebook yesterday.
