I just get the feeling that posters here who give advice to people with children are "helping in the upbringing". The mother and the father are the parents, not the mother, the father and half of City Data!!
Then why are you even on here, posting in this forum?
because I think it is a good tool. I don't see anything wrong with asking for advice from strangers as long as you take it with a grain of salt. I've posted questions as well as what I hope are helpful responses to other parents. You haven't added anything productive to the conversation, just an unhelpful judgmental response to someone who is looking for help in what I KNOW is a difficult stage of parenting. YOU are the one who seems to think it is silly to ask for advice from strangers. That is what this forum is for, so back to my original question... Why are YOU here?
I was going to ask advice on my 4 year old, until I thought that it might make me sound silly.
Well, maybe you should have asked yourself if you were able to cope before you had kids. I'm, of course, mocking your own response to this poster. Asking advice wouldn't make you sound silly. Everything else you've posted in this thread does. I'm leaving now to take my boys to the park. OP - sorry your thread was hijacked!
The child was in a loving family, the mother went away and is now in hospital after being a drug addict. Just me and the kid, so get off your high horse.

She/he is a troll. Check out some of their posts.
The ones on the "teen might be pregnant" thread are priceless.
I'm sorry this thread was highjacked too
