Parents should note!

I couldn't believe my ears, one little girl's intestines were pulled out by a pool drain!

Check any pools your child uses, and instruct your kids to stay away from any drains.

I used to be a health inspector and this is a very real danger. However, new laws have gone into effect that require more then one drain, and a new type of drain cover. I think there was a problem with getting the covers manufactured and actually on the drains quick enough. When your kids are getting in the pool, take a quick look. If the pool or spa is missing a drain cover, alert the person responsible immediately. The pool should be closed down until it is fixed!

I think it is great that people are more careful with pools and children than they used to be. However, you still hear a few sad stories each year.
