For a 2 yr old I wouldn't go to any great lengths for a party with other children...I would have family over and have a cake. A group of 2 yr olds and presents for only one of them is a recipe for disaster.....You'll have plenty of time later to spend time and money on parties....

Have some of your friends over and share a few bottles of wine...you're going to need it to get through the next two years

You could always hire a balloonist. Kids that age love that!

At age 2, the party is really for the parents and other adults. He is not going to remember tis party, and he probably will not have fun. Most kids this age get overwhelmed by too much stimulation at a birthday party and end up crying, having a tantrum or sleeping. He might enjoy a small famiy party with a half dozen people and maybe one or two friends, but these huge blow art bashes that parents often push on 2-5 year olds are basically torture for the kid IMO.

Well for starters you are lucky.

2yo hmm let me see

Golf, Casino, Hanging out at the mall.
Those should do it.

Or stay home and play duck duck goose, hide and seek, diaper change and build a cubby in the lounge with the chairs and a few blankets over the top.

The parents sit around and have a coffee. Did I see a suggestion to buy some wine. Now we are talking.
