Maybe the silly girl was mental. I knew a lot of mental teens when I was that age. Some of them were very unpleasant. She must have had her head in a bad place to take it out on you.
I think you are overly-sensitive, and that you are unfair to judge all 16-20 year olds based on this one encounter.
I have had plenty of teens and twenty-somethings pass into and through my life, and I know of none who MAY have acted that way in a bathroom.

That's quite alright. Remember, I was 16 and 20 once, and I was never interested in what any older lady was doing in a public restroom...as long as she wasn't telling me my business or standing too close to me!

Why does it matter so much?
Why should I be stared down by a complete stranger, especially a person much younger than me? Who does she think she is? I bet she can't pay my bills or make my rent! Or do my job at work! Why should I respect someone younger than me who in turn is not respecting me? I was washing my hands. Wow, imagine that, just washing my hands and minding my own business. So sue me!

You know, I had a funny feeling about that as well. I'm glad I got out of there.

Geez... I am sure she doesn't want to move in and take care of you!
Someone looked at you while you washed your hands.
You "turned and looked at her in disgust".
Really, I don't see what the big deal was, or why you were so disgusted....
For all you know, she could have been waiting for a friend to come out of a stall.
She could have just broke up with her boyfriend and was staring into space (which just happened to be where your hands were).
She could have have been feeling ill.
She could have felt threatened by YOU.
I would have just shrugged it off as a moody teen and thought nothing more of it.
