It seems once a kid is old enough to dine in a restaurant without a booster seat, parents should teach their child to sit in his seat. Don't parents realize the next person who sits in that chair or booth doesn't want your child's dirty shoe prints on their clothing? Please have some consideration for the next customer.

They will learn eventually. Some kids are better then others, and some parents better than others at teaching them.

If you want to complain, start with whomever busts the table.

But in the end it doesn't matter. They clean the seats with the same filthy water they use on the table tops, and they use the same rag over and over.

You should probably stay out of restaurants if that is your biggest worry

Always look before you park.

I not nearly as worried about kids stomping on the seat with their shoes as I am someone farting on it and leaving all their little airborne fecal matter to collect on my britches.

Adults sometimes drop food on the seats too. It's really the responsibility of the waitstaff or the busboys to clean the booth properly in between guests. When my kids were 4 or 5 years old, they knelt or kind of squatted on the seat... they were a little too big for the booster, but a little too small to sit properly on their bottoms on the seat. Not a big deal... if your seat is not clean, just let the host or waiter know.

LMAO @ Scarmig and Annie

I personally wipe us after my girls but in all honesty I agree with the other poster its the responsibility of the waitstaff to ensure that their "section" or "area" is clean.

I have been on both sides and either way it sucks. If your the person cleaning after the family of two kids who left a mess like Thanksgiving or the hungry fool who just dropped into the seat without looking.

When I worked as a waitress in high school I always used to wipe off the seats between people for these reasons.

Can I also mention it is not just kids who dirty seats? People set all kinds of stuff next to them. I have also seen adults sit in a booth of a more casual restaurant with their feet up....I agree the problem is really the waitstaff who need to wipe both the tabletop and the seat between guests.
