And she could very well argue she did pay some rent, with cash! Then what?

I rented a room out to someone, over a year ago, never had a problem before renting a room over 17 years, without a lease, and this time I collided with the ultimate rental scam artist!

I just couldn't believe it, what it was going to take to evict this criminal, a drug dealer, and boy did I learn my lesson!

Very smugly, with a grin, he told me: You know! I can stay here 90 days without paying rent!

And, yes, I discovered he could!

Go to the Constable's office, have them post an eviction notice ($2.00 per mile they charge), has 5 days to leave, he doesn't leave, you go back to the Constable's office for another eviction notice, and, at any time, he can contest in court, and drag it out for 90 days!

I finally ended up giving him back his rent money, and chipped in another $100 for his relocation to the next place he'll scam! As he left: I found this nice elderly woman who's going to rent me a room!

Oh so easy to get someone into your house, and it can take a small Act of Congress to get them back out again!

True. The need for their next fix overrides everything else.

The police have been here before and I told them that I want her to leave and they say I have to evict her. she has no lease and pays no rent. Is this true? She is seeing a therpist but it does not seem to be helping.
If she isn't on lease, then maybe the landlord could intervene?

The last posts from the OP says she 302'd her daughter, and her daughter was finally facing her demons.

Someone mentioned 302 as a solution, and she took the advice. Proof CD can help people.

I think that there are a lot of us parents that are in this same situation...we don't want to kick our daughters out on the street..homeless..but they are also taking advantage of us...living for free..taking money...disrespectful...I never would have believed I would be in this situation....and everytime I think to go get that eviction notice..she becomes a nice kid...still no job..no responsibility..but nice...so I don't.
