I like it except for the fact that I feel like now I am the one who is supposed to keep everyone connected but we never were that connected growing up (all over the country). I am also the only female among 7 cousins and I think that plays a part in the whole "keeping everyone connected" role that right now I am letting my aunt try to handle.
I'm the oldest, at 2 and 6 years older than my brothers, respectively. I don't mind it at all. When I was a kid, I had more chores and had to babysit my younger siblings quite a bit, so I wasn't fond of it then... but now as an adult, I have no issues.
I'm a middle child. I liked it. There was always a sibling around to keep me company. When the older ones moved out, I had my younger siblings.
I also like that being a middle child instills a certain mentality---the peacemaker, the most fair minded, etc.
A psychology instructor said if you want to chose someone to be an executor of your estate, pick a middle child because the middle child will be the most fair.
The oldest child will take a larger share, and the youngest child will take everything. (I thought that was funny!)
Since middle children are often faced with a feeling of unfairness, they tend to be very fair minded people who want to be fair to others.
Just finished reading a book about sisters~Mother always liked you best. It was interesting to see my sisters & my roles being related to our birth order.
