Thanks to you all. You know, I really dont like to put her out there as being anything other than a normal child but sometimes, sometimes I need to breathe.

I appreciate all of your well wishes, I really do. It makes me feel so good that there is a group of people giving me their cyber hugs,,I was a wreck at work yesterday. She is fine today.

At the therapist office the other day I talked to the dr about how dd feels the need to be perfect. She doesn't want anything she does to be wrong, and if it is, severe meltdown. A math problem was one number off... the teachers aide tried to tell her, she told her it cant be wrong. It was a bad day that day.

It is an OCD part of the AS, the feeling that everything needs to be just so.. who knows, the aide could have been wrong... LOL, I dont know.

Lord knows, I love her to pieces, and this morning she has been nothing but hugs and kisses. I have to be so very thankful for that. Some children with Autism are not able to show that or even speak, I am truly blessed, in so many ways..

Thanks

Robyn

As a teacher of special needs students, my heart goes out to you. It sounds as if you are dealing with your daughter appropriately, and she is responding to your caring support. I pray that you find some comfort in the responses you receive here, as well as the knowledge that you are doing a great job in an extremely difficult situation.
My only advice would be to be sure to take care of yourself as well, in whatever way that may be. Talk to a friend, vent in a post, find a psychologist you can work with; but you need to find support and confirmation if you are to continue being "the stable constant." No man is an island, and we all need help sometimes.
God bless you both.

I have come back to all of the posts to reflect. Sometimes I get a little upset, not angry, but happy+tears because I have support here. I have one or 2 people at work, but only one who knows what I am going through. Her dd is Bipolar and going thru puberty right now.

My dh isn't of much help. He doesn't see it, I tell him of it, but its not the same as actually seeing it and dealing with it.

I just want to thank you all once again from the bottom of my heart for being there for me... I do so appreciate your kindness.

Robyn
