Here is the thing, breastfeeding doesn't make someone immune from being weird. Some gals do wierd things, and breatfeeding beyond a certain point can be weird.

When the child has several teeth. Ouch!

Teeth don't really interfere with breastfeeding. Will you get bit? Yep. Will it hurt? Yep. The thing is, it happens so rarely and it only hurts for few seconds. It really isn't as a big of a deal as one might think it would be.

My son was only 6 months old when he bit me - yes, he got his first tooth early. But then he was walking at 9 months. A child only bites once. A big OUCH and removal is a good disciplinary tool.

To me, yes. The entire idea of drinking/eating from a body part to me is gross. Seeing it is worse.

Agreed. A 5 year old sucking on a boob is creepy.

cold diamond- what is creepy to me is a grown person - assuming you are grown- thinking nurturing and bonding with a child of any age is "sucking on a boob". They are breasts and were not put there for sexual pleasure but for feeding and cuddling with a child. If you are male, I think you would probably be the type who would be against your wife nursing because of jealousy. You would think of her breasts as your "property".

creepiness is in the eye of the beholder.

That's how mammals eat. They drink from their mother's breasts. It's also a source of comfort and bonding.

From the American Academy of Pediatrics: "There is no upper limit to the duration of breastfeeding and no evidence of psychologic or developmental harm from breastfeeding into the third year of life or longer."

If you consume dairy, just remember where it came from.

Enjoying breastfeeding and bathing your child is sexual assault??? Give me a break and grow up.

It is the sexualization of breasts that is abnormal, sick, twisted, and leads to sexual assualt of women and girls from men.

That is the 'ewww' part for me (even though I do eat/drink dairy). Yuck. I agree, all those who think a child drinking from his mother's breast is so hugely gross... either stop using dairy or maybe you want to try milking a cow by hand.

Would it be "creepy" or "innapropriate" for a 12 year old to still be breast feeding?
