A new trend is raising some eyebrows, or more like, hurting some eyeballs! Doctors say some youngsters are trying out a new drinking game, where they pour vodka right into someone's eyes. It's called eyeballing.
They're even posting some videos of this online for all the world to see. A substance abuse expert is now warning people not to turn a blind eye to the practice.
This is nothing new. I remember at least 20-25 years ago, people putting hits of LSD or mescaline on their eyeballs so it would absorb quicker and others doing the same thing with alcohol (vodka, tequila, etc). I never did it --- I was a 'fraidy cat about everything and only smoked pot. LOL!
I don't know if this is currently a "fad" but it's certainly nothing "new".
There's a large Russian community near where we live and I've heard of things like this going on among them. The Russian youth here are always getting in trouble and going overboard with their drinking. Just a few weeks ago one stole a police car and took it for a joyride and passed out, ramming the police car into a utility pole knocking out phone service. He was so wasted he didn't remember a thing when he came to. This kind of thing happens quite a bit. But anyway - this is not "new" news... eyeballing has been around for at least 20 years or more.
I never heard of this before, but some posters seem familiar with it so I guess it's not uncommon.
It doesn't sound too bright of an idea, though.
