I'm wondering why there is so much talk about North and South on CD lately? I guess most of us agree our Pennsylvania is North.
Even though I am living south now, I still spend a lot of my time North. ( just not the entire winter)
I will be in NJ and NY the month of June this year. I'll be heading North for sure.
PA will always be a beautiful northern state. The lakes and the mountains are amazing.
Your winters prove to me your north, my friends in PA. A wonderful place of stunning winter views and fun.

Today I saw a Confederate battle standard proudly waving from a house in central Kittanning. Very disturbing... PA seems to becoming more "Southern" all the time.

People have been flying Confederate flags in PA for at least the last 57 years 11 months (how old I am). Don't be disturbed, the state isn't becoming "Southern".

A guy around the corner from me growing up (in Cortland County, NY, home of one of the Union regiments that made the initial stand on the first day at Gettysburg) had the Stars and Bars painted on his Plymouth Satellite - before the Dukes of Hazzard was on TV. One descendant of a soldier in the aforementioned regiment is a well know Robert E Lee impersonator, even much further South.

I see confederate flags all the time in North East PA. It makes me uncomfortable.

I think it is connected to the general social and political chasm that is growing in our nation. There are extremists who wish to cripple this country and run a party agenda - at the expense of the well being of the United States. It is un-patriotic and sad.

It is a sad and dangerous trend.

People fly them in Ohio, New York and Michigan as well. trust me it's not that unusual.

As far as this thread? Most definitely north. Northern Appalachians, northern climate, northern culture. PA is far more like upstate NY than Tennessee. XD

I mean heck, Maryland isn't even southern these days. :V

But, but, but...Lebanon, PA used to have a drive in restaurant called "The Dixie" so that conclusively proves that PA is a southern state.

More evidence: the Khyber, formerly a live music rock club in Philadelphia, has ceased the rock and roll and now serves po boys, fried chicken and mint juleps. Can a declaration of secession be far behind?
