We tried Quiznos once. The food was good but it was expensive for what you got. We'll stick with Subway.

Did you see in today's paper that they hope to break ground at the new shopping area soon? Hopefully that Red Robin will be coming soon.

Fuzzy, I'm sorry to hear about the man falling and getting hurt. Hopefully he's recovered by now. Did he move away? I seem to remember the ice cream business changing hands within the last few years.

I think Qiuzno's is overpriced too. The Item has been publishing buy one-get one free coupons.

I did hear on the radio that 15 stores have contracted to locate there. I heard a rumor that Target is one of them. So far it's a big secret what stores they are. The only reason Red Robin's name was dropped was because they applied for a liquor license. I'm hoping for a Costco and Best Buy (being the electronics freak that I am.) A Wegman's would also be great to have. Their deli meats are very high quality and remind me of the typical kind when I was a kid. They also make a great sub too.

Of course,, when it's opened, it will take another 10 minutes to get down the strip. Hopefully, they'll have an access road from Park Road or Fisher Road to sneak in through the back. I hate to see the strip in another 5 or 10 years. We need that bypass.

I had heard the Target rumor also, along with Home Depot and maybe a Kohl's. I haven't heard anything about Costco or Best Buy. I had also heard at one time that they'd put in a Super Wal-Mart and convert the present Wal-Mart to a Sam's Club, which would be wonderful, but I don't think it'll happen now that they build the Super in Lewisburg.

There's a Target going in at the Lycoming Mall in a year or so. We love that store and drive to State College now when we want to go to one. I've never shopped at Wegman's but my mom, who lives in Montoursville, loves it.

Being an electronics freak, did the closing of Rex bother you? That was another surprise when it went out of business.

I'm hoping too that there'll be a back way into the plaza, perhaps from the road that runs between Park and Stetler (I forget the name of that road but we take it quite often to avoid the main drag). We sneak into the back entrance to the Subway plaza usually too. But man, are there HUGE potholes there!! I think I saw a VW in one of them the other day! LOL!

Dawn, yes, the man is ok, the fall happened several years ago, luckily the ground had some snow cover on at the time, so the ground acted as a cushion. He still lives here in town and is a manager at the local grocery store. The ice cream place you mention is 3B's, good ice cream but expensive. It used to be called Wagner's Twin Kiss.

My wife and I like Target too.

Actually, I didn't do a lot of business with Rex. I didn't care a lot for the mass market brands they sold and the accessories such as interconnect wires weren't of high quality either. Best Buy has a much larger selection and some higher end brands such as Klipsch and Yamaha. They also sell Acoustic Research interconnects which are excellent. Best Buy also has a lot of computer stuff that REX never had.

Those potholes are something else. It's like driving on the moon when going in the back way. That was a VW! We drove over it ..it seemed it made a decent bridge.

The Target rumor is not a rumor. I work for Target in the Baltimore area and have been waiting for one to open in Sleinsgrove. The tentative date for opening is October, 2008. I grew up in Selinsgrove and more than likely will be coming back to raise my daughter there.

Thanks! Great news! I guarantee that you'll like it here much more than in Baltimore. Maybe I'll switch jobs and apply there. They have begun to clear the site and are making progress. The scrapers have really been active and they're getting the area leveled. They already have the lagoon shaped.

I still have my fingers crossed for a Costco, but I have serious doubts.

I've only been to Golden Corral once and that was down around Va. Beach where our daughter lives, we don't have one around here. Although the food was ok the place was a mess and every time I went to get another plate I had to go thru about a half dozen of them till I found a clean one. The tables were dirty, food all over the floor and the restroom was, well, lets just not go there. I know thats a lot different area down there, with all the people and all, but the food wasn't bad and the price was ok. If we had one around here I would try it again, but not the one down there.

I grew up in Selinsgrove. I KNOW I will enjoy it there more then Baltimore. I am so anxious to make it back, but it is going to take a lot of convincing forteh wife to pick up and leave all thats she's ever known. I moved to Baltimore when I was 14. Had an awesome childhood there though and I want teh same for my daughter.
