Ha ha i was thinking the exact same thing. I don't even the foundation up yet.
P.S.
I'd hate to be the one employed there once it is set up, due to all the magnetic rays consumed from the power lines above after a weeks worth of work.

I don't think applying for a zoning permit means it's a done deal. From my experience with a local borough council, I think it takes about four months to complete the process. There has to be public advertisement, a meeting where the public can comment, another advertisement, and then adoption or approval of the zoning application.
As an example, look at the failed Giant grocery store in Union County. I think they had all kinds of permits actually in place and everything, but still ended up not going through with it.
On the power line issue, I don't think there's a problem with people being under them. I think anything that goes into the ground from them could be absorbed through the feet. I think I've seen issues with farmers' cows and things near power lines, but not anything to do with people. I hope not, because I imagine my son will be applying for a job at Target or Dick's.
They do seem to be making progress on Target, but I'm not sure how much of what we can see from the highway may also be other parts of the building. And I imagine there are things going on that we can't see from the road, due to the huge mounds of dirt there.
This is an exciting thing happening here, and I hope it spurs some people to fill some of the empty buildings that R.J. mentioned earlier.

In Agreement
I am in agreement with you Dawne. I hope and think that this new injection of retail space will help to spur some economic growth for the area. I am quite glad that they chose to and continue to go forward with this project.
I now have heard from the rumor mill that Red Lobster might be interested. No legitimate sources ..... just the rumor mill. Has anyone heard of this?

Thanks for the info on zoning permits Dawne. Now it's really hard to imagine the place opening by July if it can take up to four months for the zoning permits to go through. Even it they somehow made it quick even with two months that places it at April and only would leave three months to build the stores (which I suppose they could and probably would want to wait for better warmer weather to start). Four months would place it at the end of May and I can't see them getting things done in four to six weeks. Should be interesting to follow!
On the rumor of Red Lobster I'd be beyond ecstatic. Best Buy and Red Lobster both in our area would be outstanding. They are the two stores I've wanted here for what seems forever. I may go broke if they both come here

Does the Marketplace even have their PennDOT Highway Occupancy permits yet? Since they've already started construction, I hope so, but I haven't heard for sure. They're also going to be putting in two traffic lights. I wonder if that will be done before Target opens. Maybe Target will open first with the other stores following after.
R.J., hopefully things will move more quickly in Monroe Township. It may be that the Zoning Board has already approved all this and just has to rubber stamp it through. But I still think they need the advertisement and public hearing process, then the final approval by the Township Supervisors.
I'm not a lobster or seafood person but I'll keep my fingers crossed for those of you who are that the Red Lobster rumor is true.

There was an article in the Daily Item in the last couple days saying they are asking for 14 million to help build a middle barrier on 11 & 15, create more middle turning lanes, put in more stop lights, and something about more roads from the old trail made (not sure I'm recalling the last part right). News has been slow but always glad to see something different/new.

Yes, they did say some more roads from the Old Trail, and a scheduled grand opening date of July!
