Royersford, PA Question
Hi Everyone,
I hope someone can help. We're in the processing of relocating from NYC area, my husband currently has an apartment in Lansdale PA, and he commutes to Souderton for his job. I'm still in the NYC area until our house sells.
We're currently looking at houses and found one in Royersford that sounds nice but after looking on zillow we're wondering if anyone knows what this big building up the road from it is? It looks like a hotel, but we cannot find any info on it.
It would be on North Lewis Road in Royerford. Address appears to be 773 N Lewis Road. Anyone have any ideas?
Also is this a nice area? What we'd like is someplace quiet and rural (we do not have kids), but not SO far from Souderton (meaning we don't want a commute more than 1/2 hour if possible). We've also been looking at listings in Gilbertsville PA, which don't seem far but everyone tells us it's very far. Any opinions would be appreciated!
Thanks again,
Amy

Limerick/Royersord are nice. Limerick is building up as far as shopping and restaurants and has alot of pontential. I think that building is a retirement home or something. I live in Phoenixville (not in the borough) but basically 1/2 mile from Royersford. Our home is up for sale. It's a great home. Check it out on zillow, 340 vista dr. 19460

it could be a retirement home...I think it might be the club house for that golf club but that it totally a guess. It not a factory or anything if that's a concern. but be advised limerick is a nuclear power plant that might give you a rattle if you don't see it until your heart is set on moving to that area.... I'm sure you can mapquest a time to soudertown but I wouldn't think it would be a super long trip there are places to live in that area as well.
As a person that lived in rofo for a while I can say that outside of the immediate block or so near the water it's a really really great quiet middle class place to live you have all your immediate needs accounted for as far as groceries and gas phoenixville is starting to give itself a name as a trendy spot with a few blocks of bistro like places and lots of stuff going on. king of prussia is 15 minutes which is a huge upscale mall and center city is 40 minutes off peak + you can go west into the foothills of reading which is nice and quiet french creek state park.

My wife and I lived in Royersford for 17 years. Was it nice, yes when we moved in, rural and quiet. It has exploded in terms of development, I say this because you said you like quiet and rural. Now it's neither. It's funny you asked about Gilbertsville because that's where we moved to. It is far from Souderton, but then it's even farther from Philly which is where I work. Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear, but I wanted to be honest.

That's the adult community next to the golf course. There's a nightclub there that gets a bit busy. I used to live in a house near the Lewis Road/Ridge Pike intersection and I have to say that the Zillow image is way out of date. That area is very built up currently. There is a big shopping center where all that dirt is shown.
I've lived in the Limerick/Collegeville area for 15 years and recently moved to a place in Royersford. It's a nice area, but there are tricky spots. Collegeville is nicer but a bit higher priced. It's also closer to Souderton.
Gilbertsville is a nice place but you really have to be careful of the RE taxes around there. Paying $10,000+ a year in taxes is unreasonable.
You might want to check out Red Hill, Schwenksville and Perkiomenville.

I agree Royersford can be tricky. So can Limerick. School District, Spring-ford, is way to big and is okay. Gilbertsville and Skippack have some so very high taxes! Watch out! Schwenksville is great. My taxes are about $3400.00 a year. Collegeville is pricer. But part of it shares school district w/ royersford
and limerick. The other half with schwenksville, Perkiomen valley. Better school distict. Small, safe and great education. Red hill and Perkiomenville more rural, but nice. Taxes better than gilbertsville and skippack.

We live in Royersford and I like the area very much - moved here two years ago with my three little kids and husband (he commutes into Philly each day).
The area is growing very quickly, but being a NYC girl myself, I like that - I need my stores and stuff. Still lacking a bit in restaurants, but there is enough in neighboring towns to get us by on the rare night we get out without kids.
The Spring Valley YMCA is a gorgeous new facility, but it's gotten super crowded.
Please email me with any questions kristyliz@gmail.com
Good luck!

I lived in this town for 8 years and then a neighboring one for another 5. I don't remember this building exactly, but it's either a retirement place like someone else said or belongs to Turtle Creek Golf Club. It's no eyesore though. If you're in the area and want to check it out for yourself - from King of Prussia take Rte 422 West to the Limerick/Linfield exit. At the bottom of the ramp turn right onto Lewis Road. There will be a Honda Dealer here. Continue straight down Lewis Road. You will pass Cherry Ln and then a development on the right called "Waterford Greene". The building you're referring to and the golf course will be on your left. Past the golf course is a car wash place.
When you come to the "T" at Lewis Rd and Ridge Pike you have 2 options really close by to stop and eat. If you turn left then a couple hundred feet up the road on your left will be the "Causal Gourmet" which has outdoor seating in nice weather. Excellent food!
You can also instead turn right from Lewis Road onto Ridge Pike. One light up will be the Limerick Diner on your right. If you continue straight you will pass the Dutch Oven Bakery on the right (yummy!! They only take cash). Past that is a big intersection of where Township Line Road intersects with Ridge Pike. To your right is a new shopping center with a Target. If you were to turn right onto Township Line Road at this intersection (just before Target) this will bring you straight into Royersford and the Royersford Exit of Rte 422. You will drive right past the Spring Valley YMCA someone referenced above.

Depends where you come from really.
I am moving to the Royersford area from Reading. Considering that, I would consider to be an extremely quiet and safe area. If you used to live in a farm town then you probably consider it a busy area.
Basically its a nice suburban town that isnt too expensive but also has all of life's neccessities within 5 minutes drive.
