Question moving to Philly area

I need to find a nice area to live, clean, and low crime rate and afordable houses 250-270k for a 4 bdroom. I am moving from Dallas to Philly are in the next year or so I am already starting scoping out possible areas where to move and get a house, upto 30 miles away from Philly metro so I can find a good IT job. please advise.

If you want to work in center city Philadelphia and live in the suburbs I suggest you look at a SEPTA rail system map.

Commuting by car is insanity during the rush hours. The train is the best way. However, there are many good jobs in the suburbs as there are in CC.

thanks for the info! is it pretty safe taking those trains? lots of biz people take it? any people get mugged and/or shady characters on those trains?

also I heard Mount Wolf in York county is pretty nice and affordable... how is the job market and pay rate around that area York-Harrisburg comparing to Philly metro?
