Default Moving to or near Athens PA

Hi all, I am awaiting an offer from a company near to Athens and am considering moving to or near Athens. Can anyone give me a heads up on Athens, the area, what there is to do, housing costs or general thoughts and comments on Athens?

Any help would be appreciated

Athens is a nice little town. It is on the Susquehanna River and in the "Valley" as locals refer to it. Athens is about 40 minutes away from Binghamton, NY, about 20 minutes from Elmira, NY and about 1 1/2 hours from Scranton, PA. It has a fabulous school district - with huge renovations on all the district buildings nearly complete. Housing prices for an in town 3 bedroom 2 story home are about $80-90K. URLs REMOVED - Check forum rules. Rents are pretty average. Athens is a close neighbor to Sayre, PA. Sayre, PA houses one of the largest medical complexes on the East Coast - Guthrie Clinic and Robert Packer Hospital.
Athens is in Bradford County. Check out the Bradford County website for more information. Good Luck. You'll find that people in Athens are very friendly.

I grew up there. Very friendly place to raise kids. I grew up playing flashlight tag with the neighbors on summer evenings. It didn't matter what kind of car or label you wore in highschool. It was a great stress-less place to grow up. On the other hand, don't look for a coffee shop, they don't exist. If you're looking for any type of ethnic food, it doesn't happen. And I hope you like Walmart.
