Default Pocopson or West Chester

We are quickly relocating from Dallas TX to the PA/DE area. My husband is working in Wilmington, but we haven't heard great things about the schools in the DE area. Anyone have an opinion about either area? Or any others within a 30 min. commute from Wilmington? Thanks!

Garnet Valley is within 20 minutes of downtown Wilmington but in PA. You are right, Delaware schools are not the best. Sad to say, since both my husband and I graduated from them. Check out this website to compare schools: Schools, High School, Public Schools, School District, Public High Schools - SchoolMatters

We lived in Garnet valley school district for 6 years and felt our kids were getting a great education without the big pressure of some of the schools closer to Philadelphia. It was also convienent for shopping - no sales tax in Delaware and any store you could think of is within 15 minutes. Biggest drawback is the sprawl and traffic, but I don't think you can get away from that if you want to live within 30 minutes of Wilmington.

In 2000, I commuted by car from West Chester to the
center of Wilmington, MBNA blocks.....Sometimes it took
get ready.....1 hour and 20 minutes !! Yes, that is correct.
1.20 !! I ended up going down some back roads off of
926 and old Rt.100 just to keep moving, but once you get
in DE, your done !! I quit in 6 months....just not worth it.
Good luck !!!
