Question Emlenton PA

Hello, Is anyone out there from Emlenton, PA? I have visited oil city two times
in the last month and really liked it. Looked at 2 houses which where both nice.
However I am going out next week and will be checking a home out in
Emlenton. Any scoop is appreciated. Thanks Otter

Seems very pretty over that way. I live near Warren, Ohio, would gladly buy a piece of land anywhere near Emlenton. If you are not from Western PA, though, you must learn a little Pittsburghese to enjoy this neck of the woods! Once you do this, yunz'll love 'is corner of america, with beautiful mahntinous terrain where you can fish and camp n 'at up 'ere in the woods!!

Perhaps people from Pittsburgh speak Pittsburghese, but I am originally from Oil City (Western PA) and never heard anyone speak that way. If I had used the word "yunz", my parents and teachers would have had fits. Actually, most of the people I knew growing up had excellent grammar skills and diction. Sadly, the area has deteriorated economically. Perhaps when all the other places in the US are overpopulated, people will find a haven in the forgotten little towns of the rust belt.

Fair enough..............whatever YUNZ say. Either way YINZ are o.k. in my book.

I lived in Franklin for 2yrs. Loved it. I have a friend (Wayne Hundtermark, Attny.) who lives in Emlenton and he really likes it there.

If it wasn't for the University, in a lot of respects, Clarion would probably be right up there with Emlenton. Also being the county seat probably helps as well.

In the coming oil poor decades, Emlenton should fare well. Farmlands are nearby - groceries won't be a problem.
They have a rail line, and access to the river.
The question: is the river navigable to PGH?

Any plans for engineering the Allegheny river to create a chain of small lakes for navigation, flood control, economic development, and so forth?
