Retired couple living in Connecticut looking to move to northeastern PA for more affordable cost of living and to be closer to grandkids. Have become spoiled with maintenance-free, community style living, but don't need all the swimming pool/tennis court amenities. Are there any senior (not assisted living) developments in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area (but not IN either city) that anybody can recommend?

Default Robinwood Village

Robert how did you do checking out Robinwood Village.
I didn't see personally any listings there. But, surely they come up.
They do have that gate, ..........darn..............as I would love to
be on that plateau and see how things were up there. Sure looks grand from below.
At least everyone has good views, nice tree lines and pretty decent route for going North or South.
Hoping you got to check it out............

Please see this Morning Call article in reference to Golden Oaks Village: Kidder OKs clubhouse over residents' objections -- themorningcall.com

Apparently there is quite a bit of controversy surrounding that particular development and I just wanted to make sure you had more facts.

Hope that helps.
