Default Moving to work near Camden from Australia

Hello! We were wondering if anyone can offer any advice as to where we should live in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey to work in Camden. We have young children so need to find a safe area, good private schools and ideally not in a city area (but still a reasonable commute to Camden ie under 45mins). We don't mind paying high rent initially to feel safe and help with the transition to a new country. We are looking for a 4 bedroom home with a garden....some good real estate websites for rental properties would also be very helpful. Please include approx commute times with any suggestions!! Thanks in advance for your help!

Do not live in Camden is all I can say. I don't want to scare you, but Camden can be a pretty dangerous place. Lots of crime...in fact it is usually rated as one of the most dangerous places to live in the US. Some nice neighborhoods can be found in the general area, though.

There are some nice suburbs just a little west of Philadelphia, though. I am sure that there are nice areas in NJ, but I do not know too much about them.

Default Two Pa towns

I'd have to check how long of a ride it would be but two
PA. towns that are very nice and well respected are
Doylestown and Newtown Pa.
Thinking if Moorestown, NJ is not all that far away it has good reviews.
Not to worry..........there are some nice towns out from your work area

I had a job offer from L3 Communications in Camden a few years back and we toured the area. Best were Cherry Hill, NJ, Moorestown, NJ, and Voorhees, NJ. Commute times were less than 30 minutes to Camden. Try realtor.com where you can contact various real estate agents with direct questions about what you want. They are happy to help (because it could mean business for them). Good luck!

This board is also an excellent source of info by the way.

The Penn. suburbs with its rolling hills and valleys are a bit more scenic than the New Jersey suburbs but the traffic considerations don't make it worthwhile if you will be working in Camden.

Haddonfield,Medford,Moorestown,Merchantville,Voorh ees, Woodbury Heights are my favorite New jersey towns. Cherry Hill is more typical american sprawl type neighborhood but its a nice one.

Good luck
