Default Lansdowne

Does anyone live in Lansdowne, or has lived there, or knows anything about the area? Just would like a heads up on the pro's and con's of this town. Thanking you in advance.

well lansdowne is a real mix of things, east lansdowne is a tough neighborhood, but other parts of lansdowne can be very nice. There are some absolute gorgeous houses in that area, big ones too. But the neighborhood is definately hit or miss. The other problem is that the taxes can be a bit high or some of those places. But the prices to buy a house are fairly reasonable. mod cut

I grew up in Lansdowne, and the home I just moved from had a LaAnsdowne, Pa mailing address though technically it was in Upper Darby township. Lansdowne is very nice and has some great old and large single homes. They are beautiful but take some bucks to maintain and heat. Racially mixed area, very diverse. Good public transportation and plenty of nearby stores to shop in conveniently located without a lot of driving required. When I worked in center city it was a 5 minute drive to the Lansdowne train station and then just a 15-20 minute ride to City Hall in Philly. The negatives are high taxes and poor (in my opinion) public schools.
