Default Lake Wynonah

Hi all. I'm new to the board but everyone here sounded so knowledgeable i figured this would be a good place to post a few questions. I currently live in NYC and was looking for a year round vacation place with the possibility of moving there in the future. I had been to Lake Wynonah in Shuykill County in the past and was wondering if anyone here had any thoughts on it. It seemed like a nice community but looks can always be deceiving. Here are a few of my questions:
-What would be an average price for a house?
-What kind of resale value will the house have in the future?
-What are the average cost of taxes?
-Does it pay to move into the communtiy or should I look on the outside?

If anyone has any other comments I would be grateful to hear them. Thanks for any help you all can provide.

I have done alot of work in lake wynonah. Its a very nice place. If you want some great advice give Kathy Kahl a call her website is Lake Wynonah Professional - Kathy Kahl - Serving Southern Schuylkill she is a very good realtor who has lived in lake wynonah for over 10 years. If you decide you want to build let me know we can build framed or modular homes. Lots are very reasonably priced. If you are looking to buy a home I would recommend the area. Good Luck!!!

Thumbs up Lake Wynonah

The community is very nice. Usually quiet, no traffic other than residents and guests. Being away from the city lights means if you step outside at night you step out into a whole new shade of dark.

Enjoying the area can be a challenge. The drive to a supermarket is about 15 minutes but there are a few smaller markets close by that the locals use. There are some very good restaurants but finding them can be a challenge .

The community has boating and fishing on two private lakes. There are several picnic areas both lakeside and at the lodge. There is a pool and tennis courts.

I have listed some of my favorite local places at The Main Gate (LakeWynonah.Online).

Be very careful the management company " went worth "the board has brought in ! Is extremely shady to say the least !!!!! Our dues have gone extremely high over the passed year . A lot of people would like to move out of the community . The president is a very bad example of the type president the lake needs! The never will be fixed even after more than one increase. Now the smaller lake " fawn " has to be drained to repair damage to the dam. When it could have been saved by putting up a brace. It made to much common sense . So now there will not be any boating on the smaller lake this year !!!! Think hard " went worth " is destroying the community as a whole for the greediness!

The pool will not be fixed ! Our dues have gone from 414.00 up to 414 plus 300 plus 5 percent every year ! So in other words i payed total dues last year a total of 475.00. This year i will pay a total 775.00 multiply 5 percent on top of it ! Now every year after the 5 percent compounds ! So after 10 years the 5 percent will as high as 250.00 !!!! I will pay a total this year of about 825.00. Next year a total of 889.00. Then on top of this the great went worth and the board wants to take our base line fee up to 905 a year after four years. Do the math think hard before you come into lake went worth or lake wynonah !!!
