Default Asians in Lancaster County, PA

My husband and I are considering moving to Lancaster County. We adopted our son from china last year and some have raised concerns about racism, discrimination, etc. Any thoughts from those of you that live there or some who may be in a similar situation? Also, we are starting to research school districts. Any thoughts on that as far as what to stay away from, etc.? Thanks so much.

Best school districts would be Hempfield or Manheim Township. After that, Strasburg, Manheim Central and Penn Manor. Hempfield and Manheim would have other Asian students who had been adopted. There is also a private school~Lancaster Country Day, that would have a good mix of all ethnic groups. I would advise staying away from the Lancaster City schools. Many are very good, and there is a good ethnic mix, but unfortunately they are inner city and carry many of the burdens of inner city schools struggling with baggage unrelated to but severely affecting the education of it's students.

I see asian children with their adoptive parents in SE PA fairly often and its not something anybody cares about. Don't expect to find any racism or discrimination. I'm more familiar with the suburbs and rural areas so MAYBE the urban city areas MIGHT be different. Somebody with more experience would have to expand on that.

I think the best public schools in Lancaster r Conestoga Valley, Lampeter Strasburg, Manheim Township. And best private school for exchange Asian students who stay right in the school's dorms, or with Host parents is Lancaster Mennonite High School. Just this recent year, there are hundreds of new exchange students came from South Korea, and China.
