Default Looking to move to York

Hello all!

I'm looking into moving to the York area for work. My job would be in York itself.

I wanted to know where I could realistically live that is within reasonable commuting distance to York (i.e. 1 hour or less, preferably 30 minutes or less), is affordable on a 35,000-45,000 pre-tax income (renting obviously), and is not a ghetto or bad neighborhood.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Your possibilities are endless housing is very affordable in York. Do you have kids? Where in York is your job? Do you plan to rent or buy? If you could provide more information, I think people will be better able to assist you.

You won't have any trouble finding safe, affordable housing within your price range. There are many nice apartment communities and lovely homes in quaint towns (Dallastown, Red Lion, Manchester, Hellam) that have been converted into large spacious apartments with off street parking. If you stay out of the downtown/city itself (although some areas are beautiful and very safe) you'll be fine.
