Thanks, Libragirl. That was funny.

Wannaroo, read the quotes. Am I still just imagining things and twisting words? Come on now.

I live in Literalville, not Codespeakville. I'll take into consideration what people actually say and do, I don't buy into cockamamie guessing games and Vulcan mind melds and remote viewing.
Well, lets play a game. Close your eyes and listen to people like Santorum when he says things like
Santorum targets blacks in entitlement reform - Political Hotsheet ...

and Newt
Newt Gingrich Under Fire For Comments On Blacks And Food

Rick Santorum compares gay parents to felons

If you do not catch the code words, they more than likely do not apply to you; or you are in denial that they exist; or you are completely clueless

I see Rick is still at it, speaking at something called the "faith & family" forum over the weekend. I doubt that someone so conservative and ideological can be elected in this diverse society. He has curiously pulled back on the rhetoric specifically castigating gay people, but there is still a record of his past horrible quotes.

He has just announced that he is now against chain migration and the visa lottery. Now NumbersUSA list him at the top in their grading system: https://www.numbersusa.com/content/action/2012-presidential-hopefuls-immigration-stances.html?

Of course; there is still the question if we believe him?

If you don't like the attempts at legislated morality (of which, BTW, I do not approve) you're free to relocate somewhere else. In a democracy composed of fifty separate democracies whith a ride range in values, you won't have to move too far.

With the exception of the people who came here on slave ships (the best of whom caught on quickly when given the chance), and the tribes who were here in the first place (and were most havily opressed by that "great commoner", Andrew Jackson who, BTW has lost more stature in the eyes of history than any other President in recent times) that is what guided the independent thinking which gave birth to this nationed and provoded the strongest single member of a growing family of tested, pluralistic democracies.

Santorum, like the late Jesse Helms, or Pennsylvania's long-departed Martin P. Mullen, is a sideshow, the Republicans' "captive embarrassment" to whom a sop has to be thrown once in a while, and whom the broad-spectrum Left seeks to raise as a scare tactic. They have about as much chance of writing their desires into the law of the land as the most militiant gays and feminists do of incorporating theirs.

That's what pluralistic parliamentarianism was designed to do, and I'll fight tooth-and-nail to make sure it's not replaced by the fascism known as "Political Correctness".

Why should I move? I'm born and raised here. Let santorum move to some antigay paradise - Iran maybe.

Also, please enlighten me on the "militant gay" agenda.

OK .... Personally. I try to maintain a neutral position on sexual issues.

But a key component of the push for same-sex marriage, or civil unions, or however you care to describe them, is to put further strain on an already-underfunded penasion system, thereby further diminishing accountabilty for one's own security.

I'll await your reply on this one, which never seems to get much of the attention it deserves.

On the other hand, you're already free to move to Massachusetts, which is not that far away.
