Received a phone call the other day about a 'free' weekend getaway as long as we listen to the 90 minute presentation. They said they are not hard sellers, you don't get approached by any salesmen after the presentation. Has anyone been on this? Is this true? I'm thinking of going, just for the free weekend, a 2 bedroom condo with some extra freebies, no black out dates, we could go Christmas week, so they say. I've been tortured by time share sales before, but they were hard sellers and I didn't get a free weekend. They also want a 'good faith' $50. refundable deposit. I'm a little uncomfortable with that, how do I really know who is calling me??

I guess I am a bit confused on this.
The "free" weekend is the weekend where they do the presentation? So basically you are on a weekend getaway with an hour and a half presentation in the middle?. Or do you go to a presentation somewhere and then do the free weekend some other time you want to? The $50 deposit sounds reasonable, as if sign up and you don't show up, they are out 1 person they could have sold something to, hence taking the $50 from your deposit. I would say go for it, unless you are the type who is easily persuaded into buying something you don't want. |

Yes, the free weekend is the weekend where you have to listen to the presentation. I have been on ones where it is just a presentation and they promise all sorts of give-a-ways, but in the end, all the give-a-ways have sneaky stipulations which basically makes them unusable.
I'm thinking it might be worth listening just to get the free weekend. Oh NO! No buying for me. People are looking to give away their time shares for free just to get out of the deal. |

You can usually negotiate, like throw in an extra night or give me two Hershey park tickets. The winter wonderland at Hershey Park is an awesome time, kids love it! |

That is why I am thinknig of taking advantage of it, Yes - you do get your $50. back. Also is addition to two nights in a large 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo they throw in freebies. I have my choice of locations, I can even go to Vegas, but Hershey is right near me. If you go to Vegas they throw in $100. chips and 2 show tickets. The girl is calling me back in a week. The place is really not that big so I'm hoping no big wait for my freebies, and I really know how to say "NO", and my husband is even worse. If they get him 'started' they'll be glad to get rid of us! I was thinking of Hershey around Halloween.
Thanks for the replies! |
