Default Can anyone tell me of some nice areas around the new hope area?

Looking for a nice area to raise our children near the new hope area. We can afford to pay 300k to own a home near there. Also looking for a nice area with great schools and reasonable property taxes. thanks

I think the best area around New Hope is Doylestown, or Newtown...........
The town of Doylestown is charming and full of little stores. The homes are on great properties, and the schools are good. Plus, there is wonderful things for kids to do there.
Just a fabulous town.

The problem with Doylestown Borough is that most homes there are well more than $300k, and the taxes aren't low, either.

You might want to check out Chalfont, which is about 20 minutes south of New Hope. Check Solebury and Buckingham Townships, but they are not cheap, generally.

Default Any areas within 30 mins of philly?

Are there any areas in lets say Bucks County, or another county within 25-30 mins of Philadelphia yet not too pricey. But at the same time a safe good place to raise a family? Like an area of Pa where one could find a nice home in the 250-320,000 range? If so what towns would you recommend?

Thanks

Default Have your looked at ....

Have you looked into Warrington? It is a town right next to Doylestown but a little more affordable. We are about to put our house up for sale so we have been looking around and there are some decent houses near us that are in your price range. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Ours is going to go up for around $410,000 but I have seen many others in the mid $300's. Great schools and some reallty nice new shopping and restaurants just going up. Less then 10 minutes to downtown Doylestown & 25 minutes to New Hope. If you want more info on the town, let me know. Most parts of Warrington are really nice & pretty.

My vote is for Newtown. Great little town, great schools and I suggest you look at Newtown Grant-nice community with condo's, townhomes, and singles.
Good Luck!

New Hope, PA is right near Frenchtown and Stockton, NJ and Lambertville, may also be NJ- but all are gorgeous towns.
