Default Young Professional Moving to Eria, PA

Hello,
Basically in short I am looking for any and all advice relevant to moving to Erie, PA. What area of the city to be in, what apartment complexes are positive, etc etc. A bit about me. i'm a twenty-five yr female that does not wish to be in the center of party avenue but would like to be able to walk to dinner and cocktails or morning coffee. I grew up in a small town in PA and love the outdoors, graduate school took me to Boston University which I found to be too large. Moving back to PA and looking at jobs I am now considering moving to Erie for a position. Here's the problem, I am looking at a pretty tight amount of time to move there and am having difficulty finding apartments that fit my needs. One, I have a cat: a mature declawed cat but nonetheless a cat. Two, I'd like to be in walking distance to restraunts etc or near the water. Three, after living in Boston I like the security of complexes more so than houses/duplexs but that could be simply due to living in a major metro area. What advice do yall have?

If I were moving to Erie, I'd prefer to be near the lake in central Erie or in Harbor Creek Township northeast of the city. Click below for the greater Erie apartment guide.
