Default Has anyone moved from UT to PA?

We're considering a move from Utah to somewhere in Lancaster County, PA. Has anyone else made this move? If so, how does it compare to UT?

I have never made this move, but I did move from Pittsburgh to Colorado via Illinois. I have been to Utah, and to Lancaster. There is no comparison. I don't mean one is necessarily better than the other, (though I do have opinions on this), but it's not possible to compare as in "compare and contrast". They are more contrasting. Some examples:

Utah: Mountains
Lancaster: Rolling, almost flat terrain
Utah: Intermountain 4 season climate
Lanc: Much warmer summers, much milder winters
Utah: Lots of Mormons, predominant religion in the state
Lanc: Few Mormons; Amish presence, but not predominant
Utah: World class skiing
Lanc: Go to NY or Vt for anything close

These are but a few.

If I might ask, why are you considering such a move?

Hmmm. Good question. I want a change. Been here my whole life with the exception of living over seas a few times. I feel like I know the western states pretty well and would like to live in the east. I've been searching for a small town atmosphere with beautiful countryside and reasonable cost of living. I came across Lititz, PA on a website and it sounds(mind you I haven't been there yet)exactly what I'm looking for.

Enlighten me.

I grew up in the western part of the state. I very briefly lived in Central PA, in Bloomsburg, but I was actually in college in Pittsburgh at the time and only went there for vacations and one summer. So, I can't really answer your question about what Lancaster is like. We drove from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia once and my DH from Nebraska said he coudl really notice a change after we got across the mtns in the central part of PA. It looked "older", more "eastern". You should go out and take a look, see what you think of it. There are others on this forum who know more about it than me.
