Question selinsgrove/ snyder county?

hi all!
we are looking to move to selinsgrove or the snyder county area. we currently live in potter county, the town population is only about 750, so rural areas are not an issue. we are a young family, with a small child. the problem? we have been unable to find ANYTHING about rental/housing/ property online. it is a 2 hr drive for us to get there, but is that our only option? is there property for rent in the area???
also, i am not blind, i know there is "bad stuff" ie, drugs and gangs etc everywhere, but is it insane in selinsgrove? i mean, are there young kids selling crack off bicycles? what about schools, employment? is it a good place to raise a family?
between the 2 of us, dh and i have lived just about everywhere, so we adjust well. any info is appreciated! thank you!!!!

Default am curious also

I am curious also about Selinsgrove. We have visited and it seems very nice. But I also notice it has high crime rates. Does anyone know if this is a "safe" neighborhood? Is Lewisburg or Danville safer?

Default Keep Up with the Jones!

If Davey Jones from the TV Show The Monkees(it aired in the late 60's) loves it enough to have his Horse Farm there then I guess it has to be a Great Place!

I know he has a home in Beavertown and he has done Charity work for Selingsgroves School District some years ago.

So Keep up with the Jones!

Default nice town

Hi.I visited Selinsgrove this past August because we will be moving this Spring .I can tell you I thought the town was very nice.I didnt notice any "bad" areas. The people were very nice there too. They have plenty of shopping and restaurants too.The mall was very nice.I dont know about rentals but I would call a realtor and also do a search online for local newspapers. They always have their classifieds listed there.I know there was one rental area that was not considered"good"Depends on what you are looking for I guess. It didnt seem half as bad as where I am at now(long Island).I dont want to post names but if you want to email me I'll tell you what you want to know. All in all I think it's worth a trip.I loved it!!Also check Lewisburg and Danville. They were really nice also.

Yo. I live in Selinsgrove. There is no crime here. The college kids are the socalled crime.

There are not a whole lot of rentals. The isle Q section tends to get flooded.

17870 is the best zip code in Snyder county!

Ild be willing to give you my number off the board.

I love it here. The neighbors are retired. If you want a step up, Lewsiburg is your best town in Union County.
But it is close race.
