Default Info about Huntingdon needed

My husband had a lengthy job interview with a company in Huntingdon. They are interested but wanted to make sure we knew a little about the city of Huntingdon first. We are in NYC and have been wanting to relocate for quite some time now. But I see that Huntingdon is 5 hours from here and I know next to nothing about it.
Are there affordable apartments (max we can afford is $1,000)?
I don't care about schools since we have only one child and she's 20 and in college.
Any other information? Would there be any jobs for myself (I'm an office Admin Asst)?
Thanks so much!

The Huntingdon Urban Cluster has a population of about 10,000. The town is the seat of Huntingdon County (pop. 45,000) and is located in a remote mountainous area of Central Pennsylvania. It is obviously extremely affordable. The town is quite historic, featuring buildings as old as the late 1700s. There are plenty of beautiful streetscapes, old homes and mountain scenery. Huntingdon is home to Juniata College, a renowned liberal arts school. For "bigger city" amenities, it's about a 45 minute drive to either State College or Altoona.

He did.

OP, coming from NYC you may not know what rural is. Huntingdon is rural. It's also hilly. It also gets a fair amount of snow. You need a car to get around. There may be apartments but most rental housing stock is single family houses. Did I mention that it's rural? At least for someone from NYC. In that area Huntingdon is the urban center at a population of 10000.
