Default Liquor Control Board ID Cards

Rather than 800,000 people standing in line at DMV for an Identification Card before the election I would think the ID issued by the Liquor Control Board would function as a State Issued Photo ID. Perhaps 500,000 of them could go stand in line at the Liquor Store.

Bad idea. It'd just give the Liquor Control Board license (literally) to limit a person's alcohol purchases (no more than x cases of beer in y weeks, no more than $z of purchases per month, etc.) Besides, if you think asking a DMV employee for assistance is soul-crushing, then try asking a state store employee for assistance.

They haven't limited purchases yet and the LCB card has been around since the 1960's. At one time it was the only accepted ID to buy alcohol. This was before driver's licenses had a photo on them.

Very good, first I heard of them was when I got back from Vietnam. Six years in the Army and I need a card to prove my age. I'm just thinking about brining the State to a halt while it processes half a million ID Cards

I thought they pretty much phased them out when driver's licenses began to to have photos. The old PA license was literally a 3 inch or so square of thin cardboard with name, address and birtday on it. No photo. Since they were easy to alter the LCB would issue a photo ID for drinking puposes. I still have mine around somewhere, got in 1975.

Most of PA still has you going to bars and distributors for beer.

I looked for information about an LCB ID card and couldn't find anything. I've never heard of it before.

According to the LCB's FAQ page, http://www.lcbapps.lcb.state.pa.us/w...sp?idnum=81#C1

Quote:
Q: What are valid forms of ID?
A: The only acceptable forms of ID in PA are a valid photo driver's license or state ID card, a valid photo armed forces ID, and a valid photo passport or travel visa.

Like I said I moved out of PA over 20 years ago but I do recall having to get one of those to prove I was 21 after six years in the Army and two tours in Vietnam. It would be a picture ID issued by the state if they still have them.

If someone was trying to steal my vote I would be in the streets, we fought a revolution about taxation with no representation.
