Shellys3angels is on a distinguished road
Thanks for the information on the winters in PA! I have another question. I was just investigating the schools in Garnet Valley and I really liked what I read. I did read that the violent crime index in Garnet Valley, PA is 6 (1 being the lowest). Can you tell me why it would be ranked a 6?

Try Bethel Township,Concord Township,Chester Heights on that index . Garnet valley is fairly new and until a couple months ago didnt have its own PO Box/Zip Code. I believe it had been sharing the same zip code as Chester,Marcus Hook, Chichester which are older industrial towns along the Del River with a fair amount of crime.

Garnet Valley is about 3 to 5 miles west of those towns, GV is so safe it doesn't even have a police department, the area is patrolled by state police. As the area keeps growing, and its growing fast, they will eventaully have to address getting a police department.

As it is now its safe by design.Upper middle class Resdential neighborhoods are seperated from the commercial businesses. Theres no reason to be in Garnet Valley unless you live in Garnet Valley which is an excellent way to deter crime.

Bethel Twp was named as the safest town in the entire Philadlephia region by Philadlephia Magazine 2007.

SE Pa. is a very nice place to raise a family and I dont doubt you would enjoy the Media, Garnet Valley or West Chester area. That being said another option worth looking into is New Castle County Delaware- due to convenience to the commute to salem.

Except the schools in New Castle County are not very good. None of the public schools in Northern Delaware are as good as the ones in nearby PA, including my husbands alma mater.. Schools, High School, Public Schools, School District, Public High Schools - SchoolMatters
